Post-Publication Discussion Policy

Policy Overview

Jurnal Pertahanan dan Bela Negara supports open, rigorous, and constructive scholarly discourse following the publication of research articles. The journal provides formal mechanisms for readers, researchers, defense analysts, and practitioners to discuss, comment on, or challenge published content, as well as for original authors to respond.

  2. Author Responses: Authors of the original article will be given the opportunity to submit a formal response, which will be published alongside or linked directly to the commentary.

  3. Direct Contact: Submissions for post-publication discussion must be sent directly to the editorial office via email at [INSERT EDITORIAL EMAIL].

  • Initial Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief and handling editors evaluate the submission for scope, validity, and constructive academic value.

  • Peer Review: Substantive commentaries may undergo independent peer review before a publication decision is reached.

  • Right of Reply: If a commentary is accepted, the editorial office will invite the original authors to submit a point-by-point response within a specified timeframe (typically 14 to 30 days).

  • Linking: Published commentaries and author responses will be permanently linked to the original article version of record via cross-referencing and DOI metadata.

Handling Integrity Concerns

If a post-publication comment raises serious allegations regarding research integrity, data fabrication, plagiarism, or major ethical violations (rather than routine scientific debate), the matter will be handled under the journal's Research Integrity & Allegations of Misconduct Policy and relevant COPE flowcharts rather than as an ordinary public commentary.
