Author Guidelines and Submission

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Pertahanan dan Bela Negara are in Indonesian and English. The manuscripts must be original works and have never previously been published in other media. The manuscript prioritizes the results of research or new thoughts with in-depth analysis. For Indonesian manuscripts, abstracts and keywords are made in English and vice versa. The article published is the personal responsibility of the author concerned. Manuscripts are sent in soft copy (Word) through the OJS system by first registering for an account. Manuscripts that meet the requirements for publication are manuscripts selected by a team of editors, assessed by Reviewers, and written following journal writing procedures. Manuscripts that are not eligible for publication will be informed via email. Manuscripts received after the deadline may be considered for publication in the next edition.

TEMPLATE FOR MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

This template is designed to assist Author in preparing manuscript; it is an exact representation of the format expected by the editor (downloadable at: Template and Author Guidelines). To use this template, please just Save As this MS Word file to your document, then copy and paste your document here. 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Authors should submit only manuscript that have been carefully proofread. The manuscript is a scientific paper from research results or conceptual ideas. Written in Indonesia and English American. It is an original (no plagiarism) and has never been published in other media.

WRITING RULES

  1. The manuscript is written maximum pages using Candara font size 12 with 1,5 spacing on A4 size. More details see journal template.
  2. Systematics of scriptwriting research results include:
  • Title (CANDARA 14, Bold, UPPERCASE, 1 pt).
    The title uses an effective sentence with a maximum 25 words. Title should be Informative, Reflecting the Core Content: Short, Concise, and Clear.
  • Identity of Author
    - Author's Name (Candara 12)
    - Affiliation (Candara 12, UPPERCASE, 1 pt)
    - E-mail (Candara 12, 1 pt)
  • Abstract
    Abstract contains a brief introduction to the problem, objective of manuscript, research methods and a brief summary of result. Abstract is single-spaced typed in Indonesia and English maximum 300 words. Written with Candara 11 pt.
  • Introduction
    The introduction should be clear and provide the legal issue to be discussed in the manuscript. Before the objective, author should provide an adequate background, and very short literature survey in order to record existing solutions, to show in which is the best of previous researchers, to show what do you hope to achieve (to show the limitation), and to show the scientific merit or novelties of the manuscript. At the end, you should explain the urgency and clearly state aims of your study.   • Research Methods
    This method is written in descriptive and should provide a statement regarding the methodology of the research, include the type of research, research approach, a source of data and analysis method. The author should explain the mechanism to analyze the legal issue. This method as much as possible to give an idea to the reader through the method used, this method is optional, only for an original research article.
  • Results and Discussion
    Results should be clear and concise. Discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them.
  • Conclusions Recommendations and Limitations
    The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section. The conclusion section should lead the reader to important matter of the manuscript. The key findings of the study can be summarized in a concise, standalone Conclusion section, which should either address the research objectives directly or be integrated within the Results and Discussion section. This conclusion should guide the reader towards the main highlights of the study. Conclusions, recommendations, and limitations are articulated through paragraph sentences, each serving to outline the respective points.
  • References
    Expect a minimum of 20 references, primarily with a minimum of 70% to journal papers published between 5 years previously. Use a tool such as Zotero or Mendeley for reference management and formatting, and choose APA 6th style.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. This paper contains works that have not previously published or not under consideration for publication in other journals.
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document format.
  3. The manuscript has followed the guidelines and conformed with Jurnal Pertahanan dan Bela Negara template
  4. The similarity index for plagiarism check is set to 20%.
  5. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  6. The text is spaced 1.5 spaces; it uses 12-point Candara font; italics are used for foreign terms, and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at appropriate points, not at the end.
  7. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  8. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
