Abstract
Artikel ini secara spesifik bertujuan untuk menggambarkan akuisisi teknologi pada industri pertahanan, mencari korelasi antara teknologi, proses perampingan dan kualitas yang merupakan komponen utama dalam manajemen produksi pada perusahaan manufaktur khususnya industri pesawat terbang. Tulisan ini juga mengupas upaya survival dari PT. Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) dalam menghadapi berbagai tantangan dari mulai krisis moneter sampai kerjasama dengan negara-negara lain. Hal ini dikarenakan oleh pengaruh teknologi yang terus-menerus dikembangkan oleh PT.Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI). Begitupula dengan kerjasama joint development antara Indonesia dan Korea Selatan dalam pembuatan pesawat tempur KFX/IFX. Teknologi merupakan kunci utama bertahannya PTDI dan melalui output yang berkualitas akan meningkatkan ekonomi Indonesia. Kendatipun untuk menguasai teknologi tingkat tinggi, kita harus menghadapi berbagai permasalahan yang rumit untuk mencapai kemandirian bagi industri pertahanan secara khusus dan kemandirian pertahanan Indonesia pada umumnya.
